It’s not often we get asked to help an organisation spend several hundred thousand pounds but that’s the story behind a recent commission.
Runwell Hospital Sports and Social Club has operated out of the grounds of the eponymous NHS site in south east Essex since the 1940s. Now the hospital has shut and the land been sold for housing, RHSSC will be the recipient of a large “Section 106” sum to secure the site as a community sports hub.
PLC working in partnership with Loughborough based Architects B3 and quality surveyors Press & Starkey has been commissioned by the club and Chelmsford City Council to draw up a masterplan to guide development of sports facilities at the club over the next five years.
The club has strong rugby, archery, bowls and football sections and is a thriving social venue for the Runwell area. Our task is to help the club build on these strengths and produce a costed menu of facilities to ensure that the section 106 money brings about a long term improvement in the local sporting scene.
