We have just, June 2020, completed a feasibility study for a new leisure facility in Armthorpe in south Yorkshire. We were working with Armthorpe Parish Council on the best way to improve leisure opportunities in the former mining community. One of the village’s claims to fame is as the home of the Markham Main Colliery Band which is named for the pit which was once the major employer in Armthorpe.
We worked to link facility development with the requirements of the local sports development team. We made recommendations for a small-sided, covered 3G pitch and an indoor youth facility.
Our report has been received by the council who are now working to take the scheme forward.
